Teaching Baldwin: A Professional Development Training Workshop for Teachers

“Teaching Baldwin,” the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center is partnering with Two River Theater by offering a Professional Development Teachers’ Training Workshop in compliance
with the Amistad Commission. The focus is on James Baldwin, one of the most prolific writers of the 20th Century, and the relevancy of his work in this moment in America, as it applies to race. Teachers will be guided in ways to effectively use Baldwin and his work as a teaching tool to discuss race and break through the agonizing racial tension that America is facing today.
Instructors will be Gilda Rogers (T. Thomas Fortune Foundation Co-Chair) and Alan Burgess. Cost $25. You must register at www.tworivertheater.org/professional-development
